Privacy Policy

Introduction
Playlore (“we”, “us”) is an unofficial fan-created discovery and curation platform. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Playlore is an unofficial fan-created discovery and curation platform. Fans organize, rank, tag, and contextualize publicly available YouTube videos. Playlore is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any artist, record label, management company, YouTube, Google, or other rights holders unless a partnership is explicitly stated.

Scope
This policy covers the Playlore web app, mobile app, and related APIs that power progress, playlists, battles, and discovery features.
Playlore embeds YouTube playback. YouTube is a third party with its own privacy practices. See Google’s Privacy Policy.
Information we collect
Anonymous user id. On first use we generate an anonymous id stored on your device (local storage / secure storage). That id keys server-side progress, saves, and related product data so you can use Playlore without an account.
Product data. Depending on what you use, we may store points, levels, unlocks, saved playlists, battle votes, ranking/tier activity, personal collection grades, and other engagement events we instrument for product operation and measurement.
Operational logs. Our servers may log IP address, user agent, timestamps, and security/abuse metadata needed to operate and protect the service.
Device / app info (mobile). The mobile app may process device-local information needed for on-device features (for example local media scanning when you grant permission). We do not use marketing trackers in MVP.
Optional account linking (Save Progress)
You can optionally link an account (Google, Apple when available, or email magic link) so progress can be restored on a new device. Linking stores account identifiers from the identity provider and associates them with your Playlore user record. We do not require a public profile.
When Cognito (or an equivalent identity provider) is used for Save Progress, that provider processes authentication data under its own terms. Playlore product data deletion remains anchored on your Playlore user record (anonymous id and/or linked account).
How we use information
We use the information above to:
- Operate Playlore features and persist your progress and saves
- Secure the service and prevent abuse
- Measure core product loops with basic analytics (no marketing cookies in MVP)
- Respond to privacy, support, and legal requests
Legal bases (EEA / UK)
Where GDPR/UK GDPR applies, we generally rely on: performance of a contract or steps at your request (providing the service you use); and legitimate interests (security, basic product analytics, unofficial fan-platform operation, balanced against your rights).
Third parties
- YouTube / Google — embeds and optional Google sign-in. Google Privacy Policy
- Apple — Sign in with Apple when offered. Apple Privacy Policy
- Auth and hosting — identity providers such as Amazon Cognito and our hosting/infra processors that help run the service.
Retention
We keep anonymous-keyed and account-linked product data while your Playlore identity remains active and as needed to operate the service, generally until you request deletion or your data is otherwise purged under our retention practices. Operational logs are kept for shorter security and debugging windows. Raw product analytics may be retained for shorter periods than core product records.
Your choices and rights
Access and deletion. Email privacy@playlore.app to request access or deletion. For MVP we can delete data keyed by your anonymous user id and/or linked account id. Include enough detail for us to locate your record (for example the anonymous id from your device if you still have it, or the email/provider used to link).
Account unlink / logout. You can sign out of a linked account in the app. Signing out does not by itself delete historical progress; use a deletion request for that.
If you are in the EEA, UK, or California (and similar regions), you may have additional rights (access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, objection, or opt-out of certain sharing/sale as defined by local law). Contact us to exercise them. You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
Children
Playlore is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where that is the applicable age). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
International transfers
Playlore and its processors may be located in the United States or other countries. If you access the service from elsewhere, your information may be processed in those locations, including transfers that may have different data-protection rules than your home country.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. For material changes, we will take reasonable steps to provide notice (for example an in-app notice or updated link placement) and, where required, seek consent.
